LEAD YOUR LIFE

I used to read those words in books, captions, and quotes—lead your life.

But for a long time, they were just that—words.

Until one quiet Sunday afternoon…

Kuya Erick Opeña visited me while I was still healing from PTSD.

He spoke gently, but something sacred happened.

It was as if time slowed, and I could read his lips while hearing the words at the same time:

“Lead your life.”

In that instant, I felt every syllable vibrate through me.

A deep part of me melted.

And something else rose—

Like I had finally returned to myself.

Telestai.

It is finished.

But something new had begun.

And just recently, here in South Korea, it hit me again—

That same feeling. That same whisper.

My clients and I traveled back to the hometown of their ancestors—

To the very soil where their parents began their life together.

There, we offered prayers and gifts at their tombs.

There was reverence. There was peace.

There was the beauty of honoring the past—so we could fully lead our lives in the present.

I was reminded, once again, how sacred it is to be seen, to be held.

To have people like kuya Erick who go out of their way to sit with you in your darkness—

who remind you, with love and presence,

that you can lead your life again.

To lead your life is to rise with gratitude,

to move with meaning,

and to carry the love that was once offered to you—

forward into the world.

So lead your life, my friend.

With love. With courage. With clarity.

And if you’ve ever held space for someone—

thank you.

The world is softer because of you.
