It’s a tough gig.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately:

Children don’t need perfect parents—they just need real ones. And yet, so many of us are out here trying to get everything “right” while quietly trying to heal, grow, and parent ourselves at the same time.

It’s a tough gig.

The truth is, when we’re constantly preoccupied with fixing our own wounds or chasing some impossible ideal of what a parent “should” be, we can miss the simple moments our kids actually want from us.

They don’t need us to be flawless. They need us to be present. Honest. Human.

They want the version of us that laughs with them, admits when we’re wrong, shows up even when we’re tired, and lets them in—even when things are messy.

So if you’re in that space of working on yourself and trying to raise little humans—just know, you’re not alone.

But maybe don’t forget to look up.

They’re not looking for perfection. They’re just looking for you.

What’s something your kids have taught you lately?
