𝓦hy do I find zest in working with difficult cases?

📲 I just had a long conversation with a fellow Therapist, and she’s asked me why do I enjoy working with difficult cases like PTSD Addiction, and Cancer?

I’ve said:

“There’s no such thing as an easy case neither there is a difficult one”.

There is no difference between being addicted to sugar and substance addiction, both are addictions.

The pain in cancer is real regardless of which stage a person is at.

The trauma suffered by children is no lesser than the PTSD symptoms experienced by adults.

Relationship discord and cheating for example are in no way better than domestic violence.

Issues, problems, and illnesses cause pain, anguish, stress, anxiety. It makes anyone’s life miserable – it means the person is sick, disconnected and is experiencing a dark night of the soul.

But, yeah! Why do I enjoy working with people who suffer from Cancer, Addiction, PTSD?

Because when I work with my clients, touch their lives, think about them, make a script for and about them, the universe brings evidence of our relationship, our friendship – It makes me feel integrated, I feel good as if I am influential, I feel tied in, I feel part of their upliftment.

Because if you are an uplifter, it is so satisfying to be aware of the upliftment that you are emphasizing.

It is so satisfying to see them rise, recover, heal, live, and thrive.

It is so satisfying to witness the sweet unfolding where they meet the best versions of themselves.

It is so satisfying to know that someone is currently smiling because of you.

Because in helping others, you also help yourself.

In guiding others towards their healing, you also heal yourself.

And in guiding others to love themselves, you also end up loving yourself.
