Today, two of my brothers, my sister-in-law, and I joined our maternal uncle for lunch at our ancestral farm.
Walking in, I found myself behind them, reminiscing about the days when we were kids. I remembered the conversations we shared with our grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Oh wow—this farm holds so many beautiful memories.
It once hosted gatherings of family and friends, carrying stories of love, friendship, laughter, and togetherness.
I smiled at the sight of the old mango trees I used to name as a child. Some are still standing strong, while others are gone—and that brought a bittersweet feeling.
What made today extra special was being served the native Malagkit durian—the original variety planted by our late grandfather.
Every bite felt like tasting a piece of his love and legacy, still alive in this soil.
We shared a sumptuous lunch, filled with laughter, stories, and love.
And in that moment, I felt deeply grateful.
Thank you for the gift of family. Thank you for the gift of togetherness.
