The table was filled with sizzling meats, sauces, laughter, and all the usual joy of a shared family meal.

But I chose differently.
While the men enjoyed their meat feast, I went for fruits, veggies, and plant-based options. I still had protein, fats, and carbs—but in a way that felt right for me.
And let me tell you… it felt so good to honour that choice.
There was a time when I would’ve worried:
“Will I seem too picky?”
“Will they think I’m being difficult?”
“Will I still feel part of this moment if I don’t eat the same thing?”
But here’s the truth:
Fitting in doesn’t mean abandoning yourself.
Sometimes, choosing differently is the most loving thing you can do for your body, your boundaries, and your peace.
Tonight, I felt free. Not because I ate watermelon instead of wagyu—but because I stayed true to myself in a space where I used to shrink.
Let’s keep making those small, brave choices that whisper: “I’m allowed to be me.”
